Back from Bakayshun

Photo tour of Mount Desert Island and Ba-Ha-Ba (dat's Bar Harbor, Maine, in Maine speak) where our humans went and left us to nearly fend for owrselves while dey stuffed demselves on Maine lobster. We am letting da Mom bean tell yoo all about it.

View of Stewmans Lobster restaurant over the water and another smaller island in Bar Harbor.
Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard on Mt. Desert Island in Maine. The best lobster around. We basically drove 400 miles from home to have lobster for lunch here. It's cooked in seawater and you can get all messy yet still have a nice glass of wine with your lobster. What cat lover could resist going to a restaurant called 2 cats? The breakfast was awesome with the best blueberry pancakes around smothered in maple syrup and butter. A veggie omelet with fresh herbs and a melt in your mouth biscuit came with strawberry butter. They also had a great selection of all kinds of t-shirts so of course we got a couple. Unfortunately, none were small enough for Beau Beau & Angie to model.
Seawall picnic area where you can sit on a picnic table or chairs and enjoy the wonderful salt air with a hint of Balsam Fir from the trees behind you. This is at low tide. One day there was a southwest breeze coming off the water cooling the air to what felt like 50 degrees F and another day it was hot and humid at least 80 degrees F. You can see the seagull below trying to cool off through his open beak.
View from the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor from the deck where we had lunch while overlooking some lovely gardens and the harbor. Ahhhhhhh.

  2. man I miss Maine. I loved living in Connecticut - we would often drive from New Haven to Vermont for lunch, or New Hampshire for dinner. - Meezer Mom

These are GORGEOUS photos. We have never been to Maine. We've never been this far east, frankly! If we moved to Maine, that would be a coast-to-coast lifetime. Ugh. Don't mention that idea again, please.
