Twas Da Nite Afore ChrisMouse

Twas Da Nite Afore ChrisMouse
by Beau Beau and Angie
(Adapted from Clement Clark Moore)
Twas da nite afore Chrismouse an all frew da howse,

Not a spidey wuz stirrin' not efun owr elecktrik mouse.

Owr stockins were hung by da chimney wif care,

In da hopes dat St. Chrissymouse soon would be dare.

Da beans were all nestled all snug in dare beds,

Wif vizzzuns of vaykayshuns swimmin in dare heads.

Angie wuz takin a baff, and I watched in awe,

As she werked her majik, wif her big furry paw.

When out on the lawn dare camed a big noise,

I sprang up from da floor wif mine yooshual poise.

Scratchin at da curtains, I waved my paw,

Tore a few of dem fings, and couldn't beeleeve what I saw.

I turned aroun quik when Angie appeared,

To look at a miniachur sled, and eight tiny vishus deer!

Wif a little old mousie, so close to owr howse,

We knew in a moment it must be St. Chrissymouse.

Kwikker den mousies, doze vishus deer came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called dem by name;

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

To da top of the porch! to da top of da wall!"

Doze little vishus deer, how dey obeyed his call!

So up to da house-top doze deer how dey flew,

Wif a sled full of nip an toys, and St. Chrissymouse too.

And den, in a whisker, we heard on da roof,

Da prancing and pawing of each evil hoof.

As we drew in owr heads, and den turned around,

Down the chimney St. Chrissymouse came wif a bound.

He was dressed all in mouse fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all stained wif ashes and soot;

A bag full of nip an toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked a little nipped owt as he opened his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! dat nip did its trick!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose lit up quick!

His little mousie mouf was was twitchin down low,

And da beard of his chin was as white as da snow;

He had a sharp pointed face and a little furry belly,
Dat shook when he laffed like when we jump on da telly.

He was round and furry, a right jolly old mouse,

And we laffed when we saw him, in spite of owrselfs;

A wink of his eye and a twist of hims head,

Soon let us know we had nuffin to dread;

He didn't make a peep, and went strait to his werk,

And filled all owr stockings; den turned wif a jerk,

And laying his paw aside of his nose,

And giffin' a nod, up da chimney he rose;

He jumped in hims sleigh, dem vishus deer waitin to go,

And away dey all flew as we watched frum below.

But we heard him say, as he drove out of site,

"Merry Chrismouse to all, and to all a good-night."
