Sunday Selfie Catch up Weeks

Sunday Selfie

We are late today with our Sunday Selfies but better late than never.  I'm off with my weeks for the Selfies for Tomas and Teagan and had wanted to capture them each week while I'm getting pics of them from their Mom Colleen.  So I'm playing catch up for Weeks 6 & 7.

Here are a few pics for some more squeeeeeeness!  They are growing so fast and you can see the changes in them.

Week 6:

They both weighed 2 lbs.  They take pawsome selfies don't they? (with the help of their Mom Colleen)!  She reports that it is very hard to get clear pics because they are always moving so fast.

Teaghan Week 6 - look at the size of her paw!
Tomas Week 6 - Such a lover face!

Week 7

Teaghan - Week 7 - 2lbs, 5 1/2 oz

Tomas - Week 7 - 2 lbs 5 oz.
Tomas is doing his man-cat in training move on that ball!  More of those stories to come on future Mancat Monday posts.

That's it for now.  Thanks for looking at our selfies!

The Poop Story - Week 5

Tomas with his favorite red ball.

This is a picture of Tomas from last week when he was 5 weeks old!  Does he look like a kitten calendar poster boy or what?  We didn't do a Sunday Selfie last week but wanted to tell you the poop story.

Last week Tomas was the first one to eat canned kitten food and he and Teaghan were nibbling on dry food. Which leads to... poop... then leads to using the litter pan!  First a little tootsie sized poop was found in the box.  Mom Colleen and I were waiting to see what happened with the litter and who would cover up their poop!  Tomas and Teaghan delivered... literally... and are covering their poop! Now you would think that this is a natural event but it seems that some cats do not cover up their poop. MOL!  For instance, one of my brothers has a farm in Maine and had some Maine coon mix kittens that were born in one of the barns last year.  The story goes that they apparently never covered their poop!  He had never seen this before but there it was... poop left out in the open.  Why is this, you wonder?  One theory is that some cats (an alpha cat for example) leave their poop for other cats to cover up.  I'm not sure of other reasons, but whatever they are, Tomas and Teaghan knew what to do.

Teaghan has a question...
Teaghan is wondering if other kittens and cats cover their poop?  Do you have a poop story to tell?

Sunday Selfies Kittens Week 4

Sunday Selfie - Week 4

This week Tomas is now 604g (1 lb 5 3/8 oz)!  And Teaghan weighs in again with the load of the week award at a whopping 630 g! (1 lb 6 1/4 oz).   We think she gets the BBK award - Big Beautiful Kitten!  MOL!  Tomas gets the floofy tail of the week award.  Look at that happy tail high up in the air!   We can also see their irises now.  Mommy Colleen reports, "if you look close Tomas has lite red smudges on his cheeks and a red dot above his nose pad."  He looks like his Daddy, Into Wishin Rio Samba.   Teaghan has little red smudges on her face from her Mommy, Finnishline McKenzie!

The Story Continues - the Kitties are Born!

So the story continues! Beau Beau here, and I have finally managed to get my message through to the humans - our Mommy Brenda, and Mommy Colleen, the new human mommy (for now… MOL). Colleen is a furry special human mommy to about a squillion other kittehs.  We know cuz we met one of her special furry loves, Gwen, over here at the Rainbow Bridge.  Gwen came here to da bridge on 01-Dec-2014 before I got here and met me right away.  We have been watching over things along with Angie and sending our love to help heal our human’s hearts. Gwen told us how her Mommy Colleen was the mommy of a squillion Norwegian Forest Cat babies and had helped so many other rescue kitties back in the day to find new homes.  And so when our Mommy was ready and was looking for new kitties to bring home, she looked at a few rescue places and ended up looking online at a local CT Ragdoll breeder.  You see, she always had thought that Angie was a Ragdoll cat and wanted a nice loving soft kitty like that again.  But, while she was online we sent her to Colleen’s website, Finnishline Norwegian Forest Cats, where she saw many kitties who looked more like Angie.  In her heart she knew that this was the place.  Now, we knew she did not want an exact version of either of us but something about the beautiful NFC's there drew her in (yeah really it was us meowing into her ear… MOL!).

Then Mommy Colleen and Mommy Brenda started emailing each other and they talked and it was like they knew each other from lifetimes ago.  Well, ahem, that’s cuz we have been talking to both of them in their dreams every night and they just didn’t know it… MOL!  Our mommy and daddy decided they wanted not one but two new kitteh’s so they could keep each other company just like me and Angie did with each other.

And the waiting began. Hoping for at least two kitteh’s that bond together is big order to put in with the Universe but we were all pulling for it. Mommy Colleen’s two beautiful kitty mommies, McKenzie, and Rhianna, were both pregnant and due February/March. So guess what?  The beautiful McKenzie had her 3 babies on February 24th!  She had two boys and one girl. This is the Finnishline “T” litter so their names start with “T”.
Here they are with their Mommy McKenzie (who by the way is another most wonderful mommy) : Left to Right: Tyler, Teaghan and Tomas.

Life is full of signs and signals.  Here are a few that we threw at them: my first name (Beau Beau) was “Tommy” when Daddy found me at the Meriden Humane Society back in ‘05.  Before she even knew that, Colleen said to Mommy, “Tommy” would be a good nickname for “Tomas”…  Wow! Tomas also has a beautiful white heart on his back – that wuz to get Mommy’s attention cuz she loves hearts.  Also, Teaghan has a couple of beautiful red spots on her back, just like Angie’s red spot she had on her back.  Both Teaghan and Tomas go limp when Mommy Colleen picks them up, just like we did when we got picked up.  McKenzie’s mom, Fiona, had her first litter on 27-Oct-2008.  Angie passed away on 27-Oct-2016. There are more signs that we are working on sending...

So after watching some behaviors of how the 3 “T”s get along, and the human Mommies talking,  so far it looks like Teaghan and Tomas will be the new kitteh's of the Swick/Bentley House!

The Story Continues - A time for a new start

I always believed Beau Beau and Angie along with some prayers above would help us find our new cat loves when the time was right.

Here is their story from over the bridge to help the continuing story to unfold...

"Hey Daddy, what's that you're building?  Are those for the new kitties?"

Some new heavy duty scratching posts

BB:  "Mommy always liked big cats.  I fit the bill because I was a large mancat!  She always thought Angie was a Ragdoll mix even though she was small most of her life, although at her peak she was 9 lbs.  She had the temperament of a Ragdoll, the soft as silk bunny rabbit fur that never matted, she was quiet, she relaxed like a ragdoll when you picked her up, and wait, yeah I did the same thing too... you think I was a Ragdoll too? huh, huh? MOL! "

Angie: "Hey Beau Beau, I got LOUD after you left, you big mouf..."

BB:  "So, da 'rents spent the month of January home, relaxing, renewing, healing, and finding themselves.  It opened up their over-indulged, food-addled brains long enough to ahem... start thinking clearly again...  And we heard them loud and clear."

"First, we sent them to a couple of cat shelters so they could look around.  One was Forgotten Felines, and the other was da place we came from, Meriden Humane Society.  Although there were plenty of cats who needed homes, it still wasn't time.  Then we sent them pictures of a cat family of three and another couple of kittens they were thinking about from No Paw Left Behind that needed to be homed together.  They applied for those and another wonderful family got them.  And with the kitten pair one even looked like me!!!. "
"Then, we sent Mommy to a Ragdoll website in CT.  We knew that would get to her cuz that's what she thought Angie was.  But a funny thing happened, next thing you know she found a website about Norwegian Forest cats.  And guess what?  Some of them looked like ANGIE!!!  And a little like me too... hah! "
Angie:  "slowly with the humans... slowly and they will find their way... :-)"

BB:  "Now sometimes these things take time.  We are teaching them patience."
Next, Mommy sent an email to find out about the NFC's and to tell her about us. We stepped in and guided the pawsomely, furry nice lady (Colleen) from Finnishline Norwegian Cats to her spam email and she found Mommy's email.  She sent her an email back asking to fill out an application, and then they talked and talked!  We were all tails high in the air about this conversation and high fiving each other and you will not believe this but Colleen taught one of her kitties to "SLAP ME FIVE" too!!!   "Hmmmm again Angie... but who is more like a Wegie?" Me me me!"

Me and Mom high fiving/slap me five way back when...

"We are still working things out from over da 'bridge but it's looking like there will be a couple kitties coming their way sometime this year."
"You see them yet Angie?"
"No Beau Beau, but I got a good feeling about this."

Stay tooned!!!!
