Back from Bakayshun
Photo tour of Mount Desert Island and Ba-Ha-Ba (dat's Bar Harbor, Maine, in Maine speak) where our humans went and left us to nearly fend for owrselves while dey stuffed demselves on Maine lobster. We am letting da Mom bean tell yoo all about it.
View of Stewmans Lobster restaurant over the water and another smaller island in Bar Harbor.
Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard on Mt. Desert Island in Maine. The best lobster around. We basically drove 400 miles from home to have lobster for lunch here. It's cooked in seawater and you can get all messy yet still have a nice glass of wine with your lobster. What cat lover could resist going to a restaurant called 2 cats? The breakfast was awesome with the best blueberry pancakes around smothered in maple syrup and butter. A veggie omelet with fresh herbs and a melt in your mouth biscuit came with strawberry butter. They also had a great selection of all kinds of t-shirts so of course we got a couple. Unfortunately, none were small enough for Beau Beau & Angie to model.
Seawall picnic area where you can sit on a picnic table or chairs and enjoy the wonderful salt air with a hint of Balsam Fir from the trees behind you. This is at low tide. One day there was a southwest breeze coming off the water cooling the air to what felt like 50 degrees F and another day it was hot and humid at least 80 degrees F. You can see the seagull below trying to cool off through his open beak.
View from the Asticou Inn in Northeast Harbor from the deck where we had lunch while overlooking some lovely gardens and the harbor. Ahhhhhhh.

Da beans left early for vaycayshun and dey fed us a little bit of crunchies and den SHE was aposed to feed us and nuffin happened! Da college girl and Fat Eric's uncle Andrew must be related acoz he forgot to feed Fat Eric one time too - remember? Fat Eric remembers. We'll not forget dis one eifur. She better give us lots of treats to make up for dis. Da beans better bring us home some good stinky goodness and lots of lobster from Maine.

Happy Birthday America!
" On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the "land of the free and the home of the brave" so they can begin their American Dream.
The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings. Through the Internet we are learning about and communicating with people of different nations, with different languages and different races throughout the world. Bringing the world closer with understanding and knowledge can only benefit all nations.
We invite all nations to celebrate with Americans online this Fourth of July.
Happy Birthday, America! "

What Freedom means to us: Thank you for our freedom to be able to eat any kind of stinky goodness we want. And specially thank you for our right to be able to say and write what we want.

Mancat Monday
Not that Beau Beau isn't a mancat but owr cousin, Gumby, (yoo all member him don't yoo?) seems to have Mancat status this Monday. At owr fambly's pre-4th of July picnic on Saturday Gumby is seen here lounging around after catching THREE moles owtside. We're not quite sure if he ate all of dem but he looks quite sassified.
