Thankful Thursday and a real Snake!

Thankful Thursday already! Mom is thankful she is inside because guess what's outside?

What da heck??! Is that a snakie?

Oooh look! I see you snakie!

Let me out let me out! I wanna chase the snakie!

Tommy:  Me and Mom kept an eye on Blackie the snake as it went around the house. We went from window to window, then we didn't see it anymore.  That could only mean one thing... it found a place it liked in the pine straw next to the window. We kept an eye out and no more snake, until... after Mom came back from a store visit to get some purrvisions, she took a look see around the house and there it was - sittin' up staring at her from probably the same spot it stopped at before. It started to move and then slithered down into and under the pine straw. It looks like we got us a real live snakie to keep a watch out for. Mom will not be going outside for a while...

MomB:

We will keep you posted on Blackie the Snake and his whereabouts. We do know it's a good snake because it eats poisonous snakes, but where it's hanging out is right near the water faucet we use to water the plants. Eeeeeeekkkkkk!

Till later....

Purrs,

Tommy and Teaghan

  1. Tommy, that Blackie might be a bit too close fur comfurt to yer mom. Maybe a water dish further out into the tree cover could convince it to move off and still do it's work. Thankfully you have walls 'tween you and it fur now. Lock the door. Precious

    1. Hmmm, good idea about the water dish. We could put one near the bird bath and it'll get double use.

  2. Dearest Tommy,
Blackie is by no means a dangerous snakie and he is only helping you by eating rats, mice or whatever evil.
You have some fun watching to do now!

  6. Eeeeek! Flynn once found a nest of baby adders (UK's only poisonous snake) and kept bringing them home for me. The first one I thought was a small spring and bent to pick it up, and it moved!!!

  9. OK, granted it's a "Blackie", but (June here), mine Mommy says 'no such thing as a good snake or a good mouse'! Me? Let me at 'em. Looks like a super fun toy ... oh, but I is an indoor kitty, oh dear, guess I have to be happy with my yellow-furry-one!

    1. Inside mousies and snakies are fun. Outside ones only to look at from inside. You has a yellow-furry snake? That must be fun to play with!

  11. Lulu: "Ooh, the other day Bean and I were inspecting a snake out in the yard!"
Java Bean: "Sí, it was very interesting!"
Lulu: "Then it started rattling really loudly and Mama came running out calling for us to come in the house RIGHT THIS INSTANT!!!"
Java Bean: "Which we did, on account of we are good dogs."
Lulu: "Then Dada went out to look for the snake we were looking for, but he couldn't find it."
Java Bean: "I guess maybe we scared it away."
Lulu: "Anyway he has gone out on patrols a bunch of times since then and still hasn't found it."
Java Bean: "He doesn't seem too sad about that."

  13. We think Mummy would freak out if she saw a snake. We do know Step-Grandma called in a snake-catcher when she found one in her garden a couple of weeks ago!
