Moving from Connecticut to North Carolina - Part II - the Goodbyes

Moving Part II - The Goodbyes to CT and the Ride

It was hard knowing we would be leaving a place with so many memories of our precious Angels, Beau Beau and Angie.

Beau Beau's (over the bridge) look when we told him we were moving from his house.  😂

Angie's favorite place to sit was between our house and the neighbor's. She could hide and also keep one eye on the birds at the neighbor's bird bath. Before we left, Mom and the food man had a memorial and goodbye ceremony and spread their ashes in their favorite garden spots.

The hot poker plants
These are some of Mom's favorite flowers that she'll miss the most.

Beautiful hydrangea
Coneflowers and front yard

AND THEN we had a relaxing night and when we woke up in the morning someone came and took all our furniture!

When the noisy people left all our smells on all our stuff was gone! Where were our chairs? Where were our couch and tables? We ran from room to room looking for everything!

Somehow one of our beds was still there. We went to sleep and in the morning we went to the room with the noisy machine that brings us to the v.e.t.  And we got stuffed into our prison for the loooooonnnng ride.

We were on our way to Caroliney.

Tommy's stink eye.

Tommy: "Hey get us out of here! There's not enough room for both of us!".
Teaghan: "Get off me you big oaf!"

Ha ha, there was plenty of room in there, except they wanted nothing more than to get out. Then, hiss hiss hiss from Teaghan at the people at the gas station when we stopped to get gas. And pant, pant, pant from Tommy every few minutes, the. entire. 15 hr. trip.

Stay tooned for Part III to see where we landed temporarily.

From Connecticut to North Carolina Part I

The BIG MOVE. Part I.

We are back to blogging, our blog has a new look thanks to Ann at Zoolatry, and we are here to tell you the story of the past year or so.

Life was good. Mom and the food man were home with us a lot more. Mom worked from home and then there was no more work for her. The food man stayed home a couple days a week to work then he went back to the office. We were all relaxed and happy in our nice big windowed house. We gots to see outside all the time, attack the windows trying to get to Mr. Squirrel, run up and down the stairs playing herd of elephants and protect the place on our nightly patrols from all other animal intruders. Then one day there was the smell of change in the air.

Teaghan on left, Tommy on right

Here is the back yard where we kept a look out for all kinds of birds and animals

Here is the front of our CT house. We only saw this view when we went to the v.e.t.

Little by little we started noticing a lot of things were going missing in the house! Our stuff was moved around. Our stuff was moved out of the house!  One day our condo was even "GASP" outside!

The beans sold our KITTY CONDO! What in the heck!

Teaghan looking out

There were days I just hid in the boxes that were all over the place.

I'm telling you Tommy, something horrible is happening!

We tried to hide in our hidey spot but even the stuff in there had gone missing.

And I protested when they tried to get rid of my favorite chair.  It had all my furs all over it at least a 1/2 inch thick in spots. No it couldn't go.

Then one day, horror of all horrors, we had to go in the loud metal machine in a different carrier than our usual v.e.t carrier.  Both Mom and the Food man brought us out and made us sit in it till we screamed our heads off.  Well, I made a few noises, but Tommy didn't make a peep. Brown noser.  I got to walk around. I looked for an escape plan.

Then we heard the words. The horrible words.  We were moving to North Carolina 👀 Where the heck is that???
Teaghan: "We're moving WHERE?"

Stay tooned for Part II.  In the mean time we will be catching up on visiting y'all.

First off, we are over FIVE and a half years old now! Where does the time go? And we have not been blogging a whole nother year! What's up with that? Also we MOVED to someplace that gets really hot in the summer! What were the humans thinking? We have double coats of fur that are supposed to keep us cool as well as warm but this is something to get used to fur sure. So, stay tooned for a new look on our header (Ann from Zoolatry is making us something really cool) and finally some blogging activity. Happy to be back ya'll!

The Ts - Tommy and Teaghan

The Ts are FOUR today

Wow how time flies!  Tommy (Tomas) and Teaghan are 4 years old today!  I'm going to just show a bunch of photos of them from the past year since I managed to go a whole year without posting anything! Ugh!  Well, it was a crazy year with Covid19 and I blame that instead :-).  I certainly had plenty of time on my hands to write a few posts since we haven't been going many places.  It was the first year we didn't go on any of our usual beachy vacations so I'm sure that made the Ts very happy.

Ah, to have the zen life of a cat, not bothered by horrible news (real or fake), just going about their happy cat lives, playing, eating, sleeping, pooping.  Could it be that we could all just do the basics and live and love life in its simplicity just as the fur kids do?

Here's some of the photos of what the Ts have been up to lately:

We are FOUR today!
See?  Four toesies makes four.

The Ts still using their kitty condo they've had from the first day they came home to live with us.  Their Auntie Charlotte bought it for them.  I'm surprised they still fit in it!  Teaghan is on top.  That usually doesn't happen.  That's Tommy's spot to sit on while I'm working on the 'puter.

Tommy's sweet face.

I'll see to it that we post more often.  Maybe now I can get moving with a new blog just for the Ts.

Cheers,

Tommy, and Teaghan and Mom Brenda (and food man Daddy :-)

Tomas and Teaghan are Three today

Tomas (Tommy) and Teaghan are three years old today!   They are growing bigger and bigger but at a good weight for Norwegian Forest cats.  Tommy is 7.5 kgs and Teaghan is 6.4 kgs.  She is a little heavier than I’d like to see her but a lot of the weight is in their huge leg muscles.  Their hind legs are solid muscle and I could see them easily climbing a tree if they had the opportunity.  That’s not going to happen though since they are indoor cats but I still have an idea of bringing in a real tree that they could climb for exercise.  😁. Here are some recent photos of them and what they’ve been up to lately.  They talk a lot, especially Tommy when he carries his fake feathered birds around and now the little mousies.  Teaghan just watches everything her brother does.

They often walk together as a pair - reminds me of fish turning in sync 😁

It took a long time for Teaghan to relax like this all stretched out next to me.

Squirrel Patrol and a Sad for Binga

It's been a long time since we posted as you can see from the last one with the snow on the ground! So we have to give you a new picture of us in the Summer weather.  We love the early Summer nice weather because Mom leaves the slider door open for us with the screen door locked.  That's cuz we learned how to open the screen door... "snickers".  Still, we can smell dem squirrels when they come right to the door to see us. We love this weather and our morning squirrel and birdie patrol.

And we had a sad news for you all. Our special cat friend, Binga, has moved on. She was 19 years old!  It was time and as heartbroken as we are we know she lived the best life any cat could ever have. Her human told the best stories of her and her life with Sparkle and now with Summer. Sparklecat.com has always been such a great inspiration for us and I bet they have left a comment on just about every post we've ever made. We love you Binga and you played your life role purrfectly and left a loving and special mark on the lives of so many! ❤️😻

Head butts and purrs,

The Ts are Two

Happy Birthday Tomas and Teaghan!

The Ts are two years old today.  We are so happy these beautiful creatures have come into our lives.  They bring us much joy and keep us busy.    Now that I am not working I get to spend even more time with them.  We all get lots of exercise playing and running around the house but we all eat a lot more too now! LOL!

Teaghan is 13.6 lbs today (6.06 kgs) and Tommy is 16 lbs (7.25 kgs).  Ok well maybe we should be exercising a little more...

All in all it's a good cats life.

Blessings!

Dona Nobis Pacem

Today we blog about Peace.  Just last week we got a new cat tree. As we explored it, we looked it all over, sniffed it, tasted it, inspected it, and claimed it each as our own.  Then we had a little power tiff at the top but we got through that and then settled down.  Peace is much better and way more fun to enjoy life.   The only way to Peace is through the love of Peace, not with war.

Peace and love to all,

Tommy & Teaghan

Tommy and Teaghan's First Birthday

It's Tommy and Teaghan's first birthday!  Happy Birthday to the Ts.  My how they have they grown.

First some official info about them:

Breed: Norwegian Forest Cat

Date of Birth: 24 Feb 2017
Color: Red Tabby Blotched & White
Sire: TICA RW/SGC Into Wishin Rio Samba
Dam: CFA CH Finnishline McKenzie

Today Beau Beau still looks on because he popped up in my FaceBook feed this morning with one of his "high five" pictures.  It was like he was giving his own birthday wish to Tommy and Teaghan.  Then when I went to upload a video of the Ts watching the squirrels and birds this morning, we got a big dose of lots of old videos on YouTube of Beau Beau and Angie as well.

It's been an amazing, fun year watching these two grow into the huge, gorgeous, loving creatures they are today.   We posted their first story here.  They started out as the tiny kittens you see below weighing mere ounces to the approximately 12 and 14 lb furballs they are now.

Tommy is a love ball who likes to lay across any part of me, jumps on my back or shoulders when he can (that won't last too much longer as he gets bigger I hope!), sleeps with his face to my cheek sometimes with me at night, lays on my stomach with his head in my neck and drools all over me.  He's a funny boy.

Teaghan took longer to really reach out and touch me.  She now will lay on my stomach at night sometimes and has at times slept by my side or on me.  She likes to sit in front of me the most while I work on my laptop.  I get to work from home a lot more now so I get to spend lots of time with them and they will sleep during the day in their kitty condo beds or somewhere in my office while I'm working.  Amazingly they stay off my desk and just sleep instead.  They associate my office with sleepy time rather than play time.

Tommy and Teaghan don't cuddle with Bob, my husband, but they have finally started to sit next to him on the sofa and Teaghan has sat on his lap a couple of times now.  They are growing much closer to him as he has started to play throw the ball or any of their toys with them for a while each night.  They have really started looking forward to their night time play time with him and it has brought them closer together.  I'm still waiting for them to reach out and touch him at 4 to 5 a.m. instead of me since he's the one that feeds them in the morning.  They seem to think that jumping on me is the trigger to get him up.  Hah!

Here they are when they were first born and today.
