Angie Forever

Angie has left our world.  On  27-Oct-2016, She went to join all the other feline souls that have been the love of so many of all of us.  Sixteen short years of her life were spent here.  I've posted this story before but Angie came to me in a dream eleven years ago.  I then became obsessed with finding a white cat.  My husband and I searched for her and we found Beau Beau first.  Two months later I walked into the Meriden Animal Shelter and stood quietly in the middle of the room.  I felt her paws on my legs first.  I looked down and there was my white dream cat, stretching up to get me to pick her up.  She clung to my neck and I knew I had found her.  I promised her she had found her forever home. She has been the light of my life and my husband's ever since then.

Her story has been written here in the pages of this blog.  Many posts in the beginning have led way to fewer posts over the years.  It seems as though as she slowed down in her old age so did my posts.

The one thing that stands out the most about her is how much she loved the outside.  With her quiet and mellow demeanor she always stayed very close to the house and just paid attention to the birds and anything else that moved close to her.  Her routine was that my husband would get up at 5 and feed her and then she would go to the door to try to get him to let her outside.  We let her out as often as we could depending on the weather mostly.  She did have a curfew at dark though.  And as most cats that go outside she was in and out more times than we could count.  Even as her age and illness advanced it didn't slow her down from enjoying the outdoors, right up to yesterday, the day we had to let her go.  We will never forget her soft fur, her quiet purr, her calming manner.  We will always remember her sleeping between our pillows, her quiet snore, her warm body against ours.

Although she was the smaller than Beau Beau, she ruled the house when he was alive.  When he passed two years ago she slept in on a rug near the front door for a month or more.  Maybe she was waiting for him to come home.  Maybe she has found him again.  Rest in Peace our little Angel.  I know you are right here when we need you, just a thought, just a memory away, and always in our hearts.

Here are some of our favorite pictures of her.

Blessings,
Brenda

Angie's coconut day Sunday Selfie

It's my worst Sunday Selfie and I'm not letting somebuddy past me on the stairs.  I am having a furry bad fur day today.  Can you tell?  Do I look scary enuf?  Do you see what my Mommie has done to me?  This scraggly looking fur is cuz she put coconut oil in my ears and it got all over my furs!  Yes, every couple of weeks I get some wax coming out in my ears and it makes me scratch them. Coconut oil is supposed to be good for everything and it does feel good going in and makes it easy to clean my ears.  This wax problem has been going on ever since I was little.  I have been to the v.e.t. many times over the years to just make sure it wasn't anything other than wax.  And nope - all's well, no buggies.  Mommie says I'm just like my human Daddy.  How come she doesn't put coconut oil in his ears?  MOL!

Sunday Brunch with Angie

Sunday brunch is Mommies favorite meal. And she loves to share! Grass fed butter is one of my favorite foods so I am all over these eggies! On the days that mommie gets to work from home I also help her finish her eggies. This way I get some extra protein and it helps me get the vitamins and minerals I need. And these eggies come from the farm down the street so they are cage free eggs - even better. It looks like a lot here but I usually only eat a tablespoon worth. Yummy!

Sunday Selfies

Angie is Joining
for today's #SundaySelfie

Angie's doing Easy Like Sunday

Hi effuryone!  It's been a while since I've posted.  It's been a busy Summer for me.  I've been chasing some funny lookin mousies outside, resting in between the Coneflowers and under the bushes, and watching the birds in the birdfeeder.  So today after I saw the lovely Annabelle from manxmnews's Sunday Selfie I (well really it was Mommy), wanted me to join in and show off my Selfie.  I say Mommy made me do it because if you can see here I'm not looking too happy.  We won't bore you with all the outtakes that happened before we even got these two pictures.  Well, it is SUNDAY you know and I WAS sleeping... then as I finally stopped turning my head and saw myself in the selfie camera thingy, I realized I needed to take a bath.  We lovely furry lady cats do have to keep ourselves looking purrfect you know.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Saturday Caturday Art - The Eye has it!

 Angie Eye

Saturday Caturday Art

This is more artwork using Photoshop.  I'm still using CS5 and have Pixel Bender as a plugin. This time I used the Circle Splash filter. This is one of the few times that this filter does a cool job.  Now I'm thinking of other uses for it since it seems to work well centering on an eyeball.  Angie makes a good "eye model" doesn't she?

Caturday Saturday Angie's Painterly Effect

Angie's Painterly look.

This photo's painterly look was created using Photoshop and the Pixel Bender Oil Paint filter.  It's my favorite filter.  You can make the brush strokes as soft or wavy as you want.   It has a soft soothing look.  This is one of the rare photos of Angie without her turning her head, moving, blinking, or doing something.  She hates having her picture taken.  I might have gotten this one with a telephoto lens from a distance away.

Sunday Selfie

I have two "snakie's" now!  I wanted them to be in my selfie with me.  Every day I put them in the hallway or near the bathroom so that Mommie can see them when she gets up.  Then she brings them to me and we play together.  Snakies are fun to have!

PicsArt on Caturday Saturday

This is a closeup of my new sleepy spot.  Mommie made me share this image made with http://picsart.com/app on her phone thingy.  You know - that thing I hate so much that I turn my head every time she even thinks of pointing it my way.  So the only way she got this pic was coz she caught me with my eyes closed!  That is cheating, Mom!

Honey P. Sunshine is feeling better and needs your help

Hey efurrybuddy this is our long-time blogging furriend, Honey P. Sunshine.  She has just gone through a long cancer treatment because she had a fibro sarcoma tumor on her foot.  Her Mommie did everything she could for her and she got the treatment she needed with lots of chemo and trips to da V.E.T.  She has finally finished and is feeling better.

Now Honey needs your help by donating to help them get through tough times.  You can read about her and see her journey through her treatment on her bloggie here and more on her story on the fundraiser page for Honey here.

Honey has been blogging almost as long as we has.  She also has stuck in there and commented all these years.  Mommy used to go to her page to listen to some great musik to help her make it through the night in those crazy days long ago.  It warms our heart to see how much Honey is loved and to see how she has made it through the terrible C dis-ease.  Thanks for going to see her page and helping out if you can!

Where is Spring?

I am thinking of Spring and new beginnings.  Beau Beau and Angie's blog is now "all about Angie."  We may have a sprinkling of former Beau Beau funny shots but for now we are moving forward.  So where's Spring?

When is the snow going to melt?  I keep looking outside and making Daddy open the door and then when I look out I can't go in my normal spot.  It is blocked with this snow mountain!  We are praying that the water starts going to the places where it's needed a lot more than here.  I think we got more than our fair share don't you?

Selfie Sunday with Angie

Hi all on Selfie Sunday!  It's another day after snow day here in Connecticat.  It's too snowy and cold to even put my pawsies out the front door.  I did find a big box to jump in and hang out today on a quiet Sunday.

Little Sticky People with Angie

I am a furry sociable kitteh and loved it when the humans came to visit at the hollydays.  I have to tell you that, yes, it is true that the little people are sticky.  Here is my little sticky cousin, Cora, trying to give me some sticky food while my other cousin, Jessie was trying to hold me.  Cora is a very generous sticky cousin that's for sure!  She was being nice to me because she knew that I was missing Beau Beau (well maybe not so much...).  When she first came in the house she went running to the bedroom yelling "Beau Beau"!  They really did bond when she was here the first time with him. Now it's my turn.

Angie Driving in CT

These pictures are from an old post from when Angie had to go to the V.E.T to get her teeth removed.
Since there is a law being considered to bar driving with your pet on your lap in the good ole nanny State of CT, there may be no more calming the ole kitty (or Mommy) down on the way to the V.E.T. Now I know it's actually a good idea to keep your pet in a carrier to keep them and you safe while driving but I think that should be up to the person who is driving.  It's just one more freedom that is being taken away from us - the freedom to make a decision.

When Beau Beau was alive I would put him in his carrier and actually seat belt the carrier in.   Angie is another story.  In the carrier, she would claw frantically at it.  With the carrier with the metal bars in the front, by the time I got her to the vet her claws were a shredded bloody mess (only about 10 mins away).  When I used the cardboard box shed would shred that and be half way out of it by the time I got there.  Finally, I'd put the box in the car, let her sit on my lap while driving and she'd be calm and fine during the entire ride.

Here she is in the car checking things out before we left the house.  This was back in 2011.
Yeah - she looks like she got to drive da metal monster! haha!    She probably would drive better than some of the morons that drive like maniacs past our house!

She knows her house!

I know if we drove an RV for a trip that she'd be laying right on the dashboard all relaxed and enjoying the ride!

Monday like Velcro

Some little girl is not leaving my side today. She is in front of the computer, on my lap, following me from room to room, wants to go out, I open the door she doesn't go out. She followed me back up to the computer, I move her back to her placemat, then she's back like she's on a bungee cord. She's my Velcro girl today :-).

Angie's Sunday Selfie

Ok I lied. Da lady took my picture. I had to find a place to hide a cause she kept trying to get me to take a selfie with her. Then they couldn't find me until daddy saw me in my basket in the dining room.
Have a great day on Sunday everyone. Today the beans will be watching a football game so I'm going to sleep.

Angie

Easy on Sunday - Hammick Day

It's Sunday and today is a new day so today we put my Hammick (by Forty Paws) out by the stairs so I could rest on it while watching the birds. And yes, snakey came along with me. We got some snow last night. Just a little snow but enough to see the little snow birds against it. And we have the fattest squirrels around. Have a fun, peaceful, observant Sunday!

Cat toys don't need to be from a store

I has a new toy if you want to call it that. It is something I found in the house one day. It is also the day that the Lady heard me talk out loud for the first time. That is crazy in itself coz I have been with her for 9 years and I am 15 years old. The day I found the snakey (that's what the Lady calls it) I pushed it around and carried it and called to it and cried to it and have been doing that every day since. It stays right next to me on my sleepy place and sometimes I carry it to my other sleepy place in the beans bathroom. The lady says I almost sound as loud as Beau Beau did and that's LOUD! So who says we need toys from a store? We find things right at home and couldn't enjoy them more!

Happy New Year's Eve to everyone from me and the Snakey :-)

It will be early night for us but I heard that we might have some big ocean thing with claws for dinner. Yum!

Angie

Easy Like Sunday - Angie style

 Easy Like Sunday by Angie

Hi everyone. I'm still here.  I am hanging out in the kitchen where the people spend all their time looking at the 'puter.  We are still reeling from the pain of losing our Beau Beau but every day is a teeny tiny bit better.  I just hang out here mostly on the weekends or the days the lady works from home.  Some things that are different since Beau Beau has been gone:
I haven't been outside much.
I sleep a lot.
And I talk now.  Da lady says I "twitter" now.  I did before but no where near what is coming out of me now.  And after I eat breakfast then I talk some more when I play with one of my toys.
And now they know how much I really eat since BeauBeau da kitty garbage pail is not here anymore to eat all my food.

Da lady looks at me a lot too to see if I am ok.  She is afraid it'll soon be my turn to go away too.

We has a lot of sads today because we lost our long-time furiend Derby.  He has been blogging a long time too and he was such a handsome ginger kitty.  Our hearts hurt for his Mommy, Janet.   I think Beau Beau and Derby and playing together at the bridge.

Holiday Photo Shoot with Beau Beau and Angie

Holiday Photos from the Swick/Bentley house with the photoshoot mitsakes :-)

Even though our Beau Beau has crossed the Rainbow Bridge we wanted to show the photo ops we got not too long ago in anticipation of these "holy days".

The first day we put up the little tree trying to get Beau Beau and Angie's Christmas photo.  This was the best I could get (iphone photos...)

At this point - Angie had had it with Beau Beau and gave him a whap.

Angie was done.  She swished her tail as she walked away.

Right before I put the tree on the island to take the Christmas pics.  Beau Beau looked so good!

This was last year's Christmas Photo shoot.  He was a good model :-)

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!  Looking forward to the New Year!

Love and light and purrs and blessings to all.

A collage for Beau Beau

BEAU BEAU

It's only been four days since Beau Beau's been gone.  We want to thank all the wonderful cat bloggers and everyone who has stopped by to leave their thoughts and sympathy and prayers.  It has been helpful to go through all the blogs and stop by to read what's happening with everyone else.  It does a heart good to see that the world indeed is still alive and moving.

I have been going through the hundreds of pictures I have taken of Beau Beau.  He was my inspiration to pick up with photography again at about the same time that digital pics became so popular and easy to take and share.  In fact, my first digital camera was a Kodak Easy Share and yes, it was easy.  Beau Beau's comical face with those expressive eyes just begged for capture and what better way than to share that than through his blog.   I'm so thankful that I have his journey with us captured through the years.

I'm still stunned that he is gone.  I really thought that with his diet and care and how healthy he seemed that he'd he be with us closer to the 20 year mark.  I totally subscribe to the thought that every day is precious and we have to be thankful for every second because life is so short.  Every day when I woke up my first thoughts were thanks to God for my husband, and Beau Beau and Angie in my life. The pain of such a sudden loss was an eye opener and I know there's a lesson in there, actually many lessons.  Life for me is all about learning and this was the most painful lesson I've ever had.  I also know that when one door closes it makes way for newness in life.  I must believe that something really good is coming my way.

As I had commented on some blogs, Beau Beau sure was in a hurry to go somewhere.  He made sure there was no way we could hold onto him any longer.  There were no obvious indications that he was ill whatsoever.  He ate well, had no other illnesses, his coat was healthy and so soft and shiny, and he did not seem to have slowed down any.  Only after he was gone and we thought back about how this could have happened we thought of some signs.  There was dandruff on the floor that had not been there before.  We thought it was just from the dry winter.  And now when we thought of it, he did tire easily but nothing where we were concerned with it.  And if there was any way he could have chosen his way to death, there was no saving him from the aggressive tumors they found.   We had one night with him where he rallied when he came home but was still very tired.  The next day he knew it was time to go.  I opened his carrier and said "go ahead on in" and he glanced outside once again and then for the first time ever he turned and walked into it on his own.
