The Story Continues - A time for a new start

I always believed Beau Beau and Angie along with some prayers above would help us find our new cat loves when the time was right.

Here is their story from over the bridge to help the continuing story to unfold...

"Hey Daddy, what's that you're building?  Are those for the new kitties?"

Some new heavy duty scratching posts

BB:  "Mommy always liked big cats.  I fit the bill because I was a large mancat!  She always thought Angie was a Ragdoll mix even though she was small most of her life, although at her peak she was 9 lbs.  She had the temperament of a Ragdoll, the soft as silk bunny rabbit fur that never matted, she was quiet, she relaxed like a ragdoll when you picked her up, and wait, yeah I did the same thing too... you think I was a Ragdoll too? huh, huh? MOL! "

Angie: "Hey Beau Beau, I got LOUD after you left, you big mouf..."

BB:  "So, da 'rents spent the month of January home, relaxing, renewing, healing, and finding themselves.  It opened up their over-indulged, food-addled brains long enough to ahem... start thinking clearly again...  And we heard them loud and clear."

"First, we sent them to a couple of cat shelters so they could look around.  One was Forgotten Felines, and the other was da place we came from, Meriden Humane Society.  Although there were plenty of cats who needed homes, it still wasn't time.  Then we sent them pictures of a cat family of three and another couple of kittens they were thinking about from No Paw Left Behind that needed to be homed together.  They applied for those and another wonderful family got them.  And with the kitten pair one even looked like me!!!. "
"Then, we sent Mommy to a Ragdoll website in CT.  We knew that would get to her cuz that's what she thought Angie was.  But a funny thing happened, next thing you know she found a website about Norwegian Forest cats.  And guess what?  Some of them looked like ANGIE!!!  And a little like me too... hah! "
Angie:  "slowly with the humans... slowly and they will find their way... :-)"

BB:  "Now sometimes these things take time.  We are teaching them patience."
Next, Mommy sent an email to find out about the NFC's and to tell her about us. We stepped in and guided the pawsomely, furry nice lady (Colleen) from Finnishline Norwegian Cats to her spam email and she found Mommy's email.  She sent her an email back asking to fill out an application, and then they talked and talked!  We were all tails high in the air about this conversation and high fiving each other and you will not believe this but Colleen taught one of her kitties to "SLAP ME FIVE" too!!!   "Hmmmm again Angie... but who is more like a Wegie?" Me me me!"

Me and Mom high fiving/slap me five way back when...

"We are still working things out from over da 'bridge but it's looking like there will be a couple kitties coming their way sometime this year."
"You see them yet Angie?"
"No Beau Beau, but I got a good feeling about this."

Stay tooned!!!!

Back to Beau Beau and Angie and the Story Continues

The blog for Beau Beau and Angie was born on February 19, 2006.  It all started with a blog post that I had replied to somewhere about feeding cats tuna fish.  Next thing I know I was creating a blog so that I could reply to the tuna fish guy.  I didn't give it much thought about naming it, therefore the non cat specific url is swicks.blogspot.com. Cathy (who sadly is no longer with us) from Beau’s bloggie found my blog and sent a link introducing us to some of the few cat bloggers there were at that time.  Once that happened I decided to stick with the url and name of Beau Beau and Angie's Fur Days and we were off and on a roll.

As I was looking back at those early days of the blog and my life with Beau Beau and Angie, I thought “wow, how did I make it through those years of my life”?  Then I realized that I made it through those years with my sanity because of them.  I was transitioning into a new life from a divorce in late 2002 and a new relationship with my boyfriend and his 14 year-old daughter.  I moved in with them and almost 3 years later along came Beau Beau and Angie just when we all needed them the most.

The furkids brought liveliness, energy, joy, love, fun, enjoyment, distraction from our problems, learning, growth, care giving, and immense entertainment to our everyday lives.  We worried about their health and well being a lot.  We loved them intensely.  We taught them about the big outdoors.  We gradually brought them outside so they could enjoy the weather and have some fun.  There are plenty of stories there!  During this time we got married.  My stepdaughter went to college.  We moved to another house.  Although it was only a mile away it was probably the most terrifying day of Beau Beau and Angie’s life (not to say our own with worry about them).  We moved out and moved into our new home in one day while they went to stay with our family for the day.  They lived with us in our house until they both passed, Beau Beau in December 2014 and Angie at the end of October this year.

All of their lives with us are here in these pages.  Memories of them are so close it’s like they are still here except for the stillness of the house without their presence.  They are now our Angel cats and their memories will live on for some time within these pages.  The blog went from Beau Beau and Angie’s fur days, to All About Angie after Beau Beau passed and now back again.  Many thanks to the beautiful job done by Ann from Zoolatry for the new header for the holidays!

Starting after the holidays my husband and I are going to be searching for a couple of cats to fill our home with love again.  As before we know that it will be them that will find us actually.  We are thinking that Beau Beau and Angie will be guiding the process somehow.  The new ones will have big paws to fill for sure!  So stay tuned for the search, the adventures and the stories of our future furkids.

Blessings and purrs,
Brenda

Angie and her floofy tail

http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3166/2312/1600/angie-beauty.jpg

I'm really missing my beautiful Angie.  I was looking back at the blog, thinking back to the days when we first got Beau Beau and Angie.  I'm getting ready to create a book from the blog.  This picture is from a post back in 2006 shortly after I first started blogging about them.

We are sure that when it's the right time, we will know to find some other loving felines to fill our lives once again.

I went to a fund raiser for the Meriden Humane Society (where we found Beau Beau and Angie in 2005).  The speaker was s a local psychic medium.  I had never been to see one before but have always been interested in life after death so I thought it would be interesting to say the least.  I had signed up for this before Angie passed away.  So before I went I thought hmmmm, wouldn't it be great if Angie came through?  Since she had been gone only a few days I felt she would be right there close to me.  Everyone says your loved ones are always around you always, right?  On the spiritual level, I realize that animals do not have the same energy as humans.  So it would have been a reach for her to come through especially since the room was filled with 100+ people which meant 100+ people and all of their spirits that come with them.  I found out it's a lot for a medium to handle.

It was a very interesting event, with many people hearing their loved ones come through.  And yes, finally, I heard Vanessa say, "Angela, Angie?"  I didn't quite believe she said "Angie".  So I didn't say anything.  Vanessa made her way around the room until she was in front of me and was talking to someone else.  Then she looked at me and said "is there someone you want to hear from?"  I said no, then I said well, yes, my cat Angie. She and a couple other people said " she said Angie before".  It was such a weird feeling to know that she really might have gotten through.  So when she said did she have a really big tail - I said yes - while thinking skeptically, that's a 50/50 call... Angie did have a really big tail though as can be seen by the many pictures in this blog.  The picture above is a perfect example of how furry her tail really was.  As she got older it was less full but I was thinking when people come through the medium they usually show up as a much younger and happier version of themselves as well.  When I saw the older pictures of Angie I made the connection that she too had come through as a younger healthier version of herself.

Then Vanessa said "I see the number 8".  She was wondering if it was perhaps Angie's age, or to do with another cat.  Later that night as I was thinking about it, maybe it wasn't "8" but "ate".  I was doing all I could to get Angie to eat that last week of her life.  Was she saying she finally "ate"?  I only hope it was something as simple and loving as that.  Or it could be as someone had suggested, the number 8 as the infinity symbol which is heart warming to think of as well.  One can only guess.  I'm just happy to feel that she really might have been there reaching out to me and that she is really here whenever I need to reach out to her or need her love.

Blessings,
Brenda

Angie Forever

Angie has left our world.  On  27-Oct-2016, She went to join all the other feline souls that have been the love of so many of all of us.  Sixteen short years of her life were spent here.  I've posted this story before but Angie came to me in a dream eleven years ago.  I then became obsessed with finding a white cat.  My husband and I searched for her and we found Beau Beau first.  Two months later I walked into the Meriden Animal Shelter and stood quietly in the middle of the room.  I felt her paws on my legs first.  I looked down and there was my white dream cat, stretching up to get me to pick her up.  She clung to my neck and I knew I had found her.  I promised her she had found her forever home. She has been the light of my life and my husband's ever since then.

Her story has been written here in the pages of this blog.  Many posts in the beginning have led way to fewer posts over the years.  It seems as though as she slowed down in her old age so did my posts.

The one thing that stands out the most about her is how much she loved the outside.  With her quiet and mellow demeanor she always stayed very close to the house and just paid attention to the birds and anything else that moved close to her.  Her routine was that my husband would get up at 5 and feed her and then she would go to the door to try to get him to let her outside.  We let her out as often as we could depending on the weather mostly.  She did have a curfew at dark though.  And as most cats that go outside she was in and out more times than we could count.  Even as her age and illness advanced it didn't slow her down from enjoying the outdoors, right up to yesterday, the day we had to let her go.  We will never forget her soft fur, her quiet purr, her calming manner.  We will always remember her sleeping between our pillows, her quiet snore, her warm body against ours.

Although she was the smaller than Beau Beau, she ruled the house when he was alive.  When he passed two years ago she slept in on a rug near the front door for a month or more.  Maybe she was waiting for him to come home.  Maybe she has found him again.  Rest in Peace our little Angel.  I know you are right here when we need you, just a thought, just a memory away, and always in our hearts.

Here are some of our favorite pictures of her.

Blessings,
Brenda

Angie's coconut day Sunday Selfie

It's my worst Sunday Selfie and I'm not letting somebuddy past me on the stairs.  I am having a furry bad fur day today.  Can you tell?  Do I look scary enuf?  Do you see what my Mommie has done to me?  This scraggly looking fur is cuz she put coconut oil in my ears and it got all over my furs!  Yes, every couple of weeks I get some wax coming out in my ears and it makes me scratch them. Coconut oil is supposed to be good for everything and it does feel good going in and makes it easy to clean my ears.  This wax problem has been going on ever since I was little.  I have been to the v.e.t. many times over the years to just make sure it wasn't anything other than wax.  And nope - all's well, no buggies.  Mommie says I'm just like my human Daddy.  How come she doesn't put coconut oil in his ears?  MOL!

Sunday Brunch with Angie

Sunday brunch is Mommies favorite meal. And she loves to share! Grass fed butter is one of my favorite foods so I am all over these eggies! On the days that mommie gets to work from home I also help her finish her eggies. This way I get some extra protein and it helps me get the vitamins and minerals I need. And these eggies come from the farm down the street so they are cage free eggs - even better. It looks like a lot here but I usually only eat a tablespoon worth. Yummy!

Sunday Selfies

Angie is Joining
for today's #SundaySelfie

Angie's doing Easy Like Sunday

Hi effuryone!  It's been a while since I've posted.  It's been a busy Summer for me.  I've been chasing some funny lookin mousies outside, resting in between the Coneflowers and under the bushes, and watching the birds in the birdfeeder.  So today after I saw the lovely Annabelle from manxmnews's Sunday Selfie I (well really it was Mommy), wanted me to join in and show off my Selfie.  I say Mommy made me do it because if you can see here I'm not looking too happy.  We won't bore you with all the outtakes that happened before we even got these two pictures.  Well, it is SUNDAY you know and I WAS sleeping... then as I finally stopped turning my head and saw myself in the selfie camera thingy, I realized I needed to take a bath.  We lovely furry lady cats do have to keep ourselves looking purrfect you know.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Saturday Caturday Art - The Eye has it!

 Angie Eye

Saturday Caturday Art

This is more artwork using Photoshop.  I'm still using CS5 and have Pixel Bender as a plugin. This time I used the Circle Splash filter. This is one of the few times that this filter does a cool job.  Now I'm thinking of other uses for it since it seems to work well centering on an eyeball.  Angie makes a good "eye model" doesn't she?

Caturday Saturday Angie's Painterly Effect

Angie's Painterly look.

This photo's painterly look was created using Photoshop and the Pixel Bender Oil Paint filter.  It's my favorite filter.  You can make the brush strokes as soft or wavy as you want.   It has a soft soothing look.  This is one of the rare photos of Angie without her turning her head, moving, blinking, or doing something.  She hates having her picture taken.  I might have gotten this one with a telephoto lens from a distance away.

Sunday Selfie

I have two "snakie's" now!  I wanted them to be in my selfie with me.  Every day I put them in the hallway or near the bathroom so that Mommie can see them when she gets up.  Then she brings them to me and we play together.  Snakies are fun to have!

PicsArt on Caturday Saturday

This is a closeup of my new sleepy spot.  Mommie made me share this image made with http://picsart.com/app on her phone thingy.  You know - that thing I hate so much that I turn my head every time she even thinks of pointing it my way.  So the only way she got this pic was coz she caught me with my eyes closed!  That is cheating, Mom!

Honey P. Sunshine is feeling better and needs your help

Hey efurrybuddy this is our long-time blogging furriend, Honey P. Sunshine.  She has just gone through a long cancer treatment because she had a fibro sarcoma tumor on her foot.  Her Mommie did everything she could for her and she got the treatment she needed with lots of chemo and trips to da V.E.T.  She has finally finished and is feeling better.

Now Honey needs your help by donating to help them get through tough times.  You can read about her and see her journey through her treatment on her bloggie here and more on her story on the fundraiser page for Honey here.

Honey has been blogging almost as long as we has.  She also has stuck in there and commented all these years.  Mommy used to go to her page to listen to some great musik to help her make it through the night in those crazy days long ago.  It warms our heart to see how much Honey is loved and to see how she has made it through the terrible C dis-ease.  Thanks for going to see her page and helping out if you can!

Where is Spring?

I am thinking of Spring and new beginnings.  Beau Beau and Angie's blog is now "all about Angie."  We may have a sprinkling of former Beau Beau funny shots but for now we are moving forward.  So where's Spring?

When is the snow going to melt?  I keep looking outside and making Daddy open the door and then when I look out I can't go in my normal spot.  It is blocked with this snow mountain!  We are praying that the water starts going to the places where it's needed a lot more than here.  I think we got more than our fair share don't you?

Selfie Sunday with Angie

Hi all on Selfie Sunday!  It's another day after snow day here in Connecticat.  It's too snowy and cold to even put my pawsies out the front door.  I did find a big box to jump in and hang out today on a quiet Sunday.

Little Sticky People with Angie

I am a furry sociable kitteh and loved it when the humans came to visit at the hollydays.  I have to tell you that, yes, it is true that the little people are sticky.  Here is my little sticky cousin, Cora, trying to give me some sticky food while my other cousin, Jessie was trying to hold me.  Cora is a very generous sticky cousin that's for sure!  She was being nice to me because she knew that I was missing Beau Beau (well maybe not so much...).  When she first came in the house she went running to the bedroom yelling "Beau Beau"!  They really did bond when she was here the first time with him. Now it's my turn.

Angie Driving in CT

These pictures are from an old post from when Angie had to go to the V.E.T to get her teeth removed.
Since there is a law being considered to bar driving with your pet on your lap in the good ole nanny State of CT, there may be no more calming the ole kitty (or Mommy) down on the way to the V.E.T. Now I know it's actually a good idea to keep your pet in a carrier to keep them and you safe while driving but I think that should be up to the person who is driving.  It's just one more freedom that is being taken away from us - the freedom to make a decision.

When Beau Beau was alive I would put him in his carrier and actually seat belt the carrier in.   Angie is another story.  In the carrier, she would claw frantically at it.  With the carrier with the metal bars in the front, by the time I got her to the vet her claws were a shredded bloody mess (only about 10 mins away).  When I used the cardboard box shed would shred that and be half way out of it by the time I got there.  Finally, I'd put the box in the car, let her sit on my lap while driving and she'd be calm and fine during the entire ride.

Here she is in the car checking things out before we left the house.  This was back in 2011.
Yeah - she looks like she got to drive da metal monster! haha!    She probably would drive better than some of the morons that drive like maniacs past our house!

She knows her house!

I know if we drove an RV for a trip that she'd be laying right on the dashboard all relaxed and enjoying the ride!

Monday like Velcro

Some little girl is not leaving my side today. She is in front of the computer, on my lap, following me from room to room, wants to go out, I open the door she doesn't go out. She followed me back up to the computer, I move her back to her placemat, then she's back like she's on a bungee cord. She's my Velcro girl today :-).

Angie's Sunday Selfie

Ok I lied. Da lady took my picture. I had to find a place to hide a cause she kept trying to get me to take a selfie with her. Then they couldn't find me until daddy saw me in my basket in the dining room.
Have a great day on Sunday everyone. Today the beans will be watching a football game so I'm going to sleep.

Purrs,
Angie
